Once upon a time, Sally and Max were eagerly waiting for the 4th of July, their favorite holiday. They loved the festivities, the fireworks, the hotdogs, and the time spent with their family.
On the morning of the 4th, Sally and Max’s parents took them to a nearby lake for a day of swimming and fun in the sun. They packed a picnic basket full of hotdogs, watermelon, and chips, and set up a cozy spot under the shade of a big tree.
Sally and Max couldn’t wait to jump into the cool, refreshing water. They splashed around, played games, and had a great time with their parents. After a few hours of swimming, they dried off and sat down for a delicious picnic lunch.
As they enjoyed their hotdogs and watermelon, they talked about their plans for the evening’s fireworks show. Sally and Max’s parents promised to take them to the best spot in town to watch the spectacular display.
As the sun began to set, Sally and Max’s excitement grew. They couldn’t wait to see the colorful explosions in the sky. They piled into the car with their parents and drove to the perfect viewing spot.
