Gaurav’s lecture focussed mainly on what engineers should look out for when selecting and evaluating cast iron soil pipes and fittings as per IS 1729:2002. The considerations of quality, designs, special use cases and manufacturing techniques were brought to light. One of the most interesting points that was discussed was the importance of deep as well as shallow seals in Nahani Traps and P-Traps. The design of these seals is imperative in preventing foul odour, keeping away pests and avoiding clogged toilets.

BIC has a legacy of being the premier supplier of this range of cast iron pipes and fittings.
